Stacy Redmon- Red Rock Photography

Majestic Skies

About Stacy

I am a native of Western North Carolina, and the Blue Ridge Mountains have shaped who I am. Growing up in Asheville, I was surrounded by ridgelines, fog-draped valleys, and ever-changing mountain light—but like many who grow up in a beautiful place, I didn’t truly understand how special it was until I left. After graduate school in Macon, Georgia, I came home with fresh eyes and a renewed appreciation for the land I had taken for granted. Hiking became a way to reconnect, and photography quickly followed as a way to honor what I was experiencing.

I am a self-taught photographer, guided by curiosity, patience, and good friends who shared their knowledge along the way. Over the years, my work has been published and recognized with awards at juried art shows, but the greatest honor is knowing my images now hang in homes and businesses around the world—connecting others to the places that have shaped me.

Authenticity is at the heart of my work. The Blue Ridge doesn’t need enhancement or dramatic manipulation—the true colors, textures, and atmosphere are already extraordinary. For that reason, I use minimal post-processing and avoid heavy saturation trends or over-editing. My goal is simple: to present the mountains as they are, not as software can exaggerate them. Every photograph represents a real moment in time, seen as close as possible to how it looked—and felt—to stand there.

These mountains hold story, spirit, and memory. My work is a way of preserving that, one sunrise or sunset, one season, one quiet ridge line at a time.
