Nicole Palazzo, originally from Florida but has been in Banner Elk for enough time to be considered local is a chef and artist who sees creativity as a way of life — whether she’s behind the stove or in front of a canvas. Known for her bold black-and-white pieces, she often adds pops of color to give her work emotion and edge. “The color of culinary” reflects her belief that both cooking and painting are deeply connected forms of art — each one feeding the other. Devoting time to both crafts allows her to bring depth, contrast, and passion to everything she creates. She started art at a young age and has always had an eye for the creative things in life.
